DRY SPELL: Residents of a barangay in the western part of Metro Manila serviced by Maynilad Water Services, Inc. are pensively watching their pails fill up with water rationed by fire trucks. Some 1.12 million residents in the 177 barangays in the metropolis either have no water or have a water supply of only six hours, due to the low water level of Angat Dam, the key source of water for Manilenos.
